This activity is designed to allow students to reflect on their views, share, and learn from others.  There are 6 parts to this activity, which will be presented throughout this module. Each of the 6 statements presented will address a variety of topics. After reading each statement, comment how you feel about the statement.

When considering the statement, do you:
  • Strongly Agree
  • Agree
  • Disagree
  • Strongly Disagree

Read comments that other students have posted, and notice how you may be in agreement with some students on some topics but not on others, and how sometimes you are in the majority and sometimes the minority.

If you are unsure about a topic, what would you need in order to make a decision? Share your perspectives with the undecided students who may then decide to take a position.

  1. A multicultural education curriculum should be in place in every school.

I agree, I think that everyone can learn something from others. A multicultural education provides the ability to learn acceptance of everyone around you.

I strongly agree with this statement. A multicultural curriculum is essential to all childcare centers. Children need to learn about each other's differences and be accepting of other people so that they can navigate this world as kind and accepting individuals.

I strongly agree. I think it's very important for children to recognize different cultures and know how to respect them. Especially because schools are beginning to become very diverse.

I agree that there should be education on Multicultural ethnicities in all classrooms. There is so much diversity and being educated on the different ways people live or values they have is very important when it comes to having a student in your classroom. I also believe that it is good for the children to learn these values as well because it will become an everyday part of their life. Learning to respect these differences at a young age is extremely important.
