Why do we need to have Health Policies in Early Learning Programs? To prepare for possible/future health issues that pop up, and to insure the environment is safe. If we are prepared to respond appropriately we are more likely to do so.
Which policies or program procedures for keeping children safe are unclear to you? none.

We have Health Policies in Early Learning Programs, because they keep children and staff safe from the spread of disease and infection. Without Health Policies, Programs would be unsafe for children. There would be no protocol for what to do when someone was injured or their life at risk, food wouldn’t be kept at the correct temperatures, proper sanitation before and after meals and diaper changing wouldn’t happen, and children would be allowed to engage in dangerous activities.

My center continuously keeps us up-to-date about Health Policies. All of the policies and procedures are clear to me.

Health policies ensure the whole center can remain healthy and clean. Having policies will set the guidelines ahead of time so everyone knows when to exclude someone who is sick.
I don't think I have any difficulties with any health policy

None of them are unclear to me. It is important to have health policies and procedures for the protection of the children and of the staff. It is important to put best efforts toward keeping everyone safe and healthy. Should an incident occur, it is important that there is a policy in place to follow. S

We need health policies in early learning to protect the safety and wellness of all children and staff members and their families. Preventing the spread of germs is a crucial health policy in all learning centers. No policies are unclear to me.

Safety Polices and Health procedures are key to any location with large amount of people. Especially children, since they are so vulnerable. Children often fall down, bumps, scrapes and bruises. Its our responsibility to take all precautions with children that are in our care.

I am clear on the health and safety procedures.

As childcare providers we need health and safety policies to keep students safe at all times. Written policies help both teachers and parents, because parents know and understand that their children will be safe in the event of a health or safety incident and teachers know exactly what to do in any given incident. A few things I am unclear on in terms of health and safety are what to do in emergency circumstances such as if there is someone unauthorized that appears sketchy on or near the premises or if there are disasters like earthquakes or power outages.

Health policies ensure that the staff in a childcare center is prepared for any sort of outbreak, infection, or medical emergency. Health policies also help us, as adults, practice and teach children good hygiene and safety.
I do not have any concerns about the health policies at my care center.

Why do we need to have Health Policies in Early Learning Programs? Because protecting children's health is more than a focus on the prevention of disease or illness. Health also needs to be promoted through attention to the whole child and the child's physical, oral, mental, and social health. A high quality child care center begins with a healthy environment and written policies and practices to maintain them.

Which policies or program procedures for keeping children safe are unclear to you? Knowing when it is okay for you to reject a child from coming to your care center when they are sick. I understand that a child with the common cold can not be turned away, but how do you know for sure that the child only has the common cold? Are you allowed as a caregiver to require a signed document from a doctor that the child only has the common cold? or do you have to take the parents word on it?

Health Policies are in place so there is a plan when medical emergencies arise. The policies make sure that everyone knows the same information and procedures to follow.
I don't feel like any policies are unclear. I've never had an experience where I thought a child was abused or neglected, that situation would be harder to deal with (and I hope I never have to!).

It is very important to have health policies, so that both staff and family members know what happens in a given situation. It is very important that staff know what they are supposed to do in situations regarding the health of the children, so that the children are receiving the best care possible and are treated speedily without the obstacle of confusion, which could delay urgent care.

One policy I find unclear is when children should stay home due to illness or when they should leave due to illness. Does a very runny nose pose a reason to stay home? Or a powerful cough? It is hard to tell, but every case is different.
