It is required to have a philosophy statement, but not a mission statement. However the philosophy is usually included within the mission statement. The teachers decision making, behavior and actions should be inspired and dictated by the ethics and goals described in the mission statement.

A mission statement is an indicator of professionalism. It shows they have thought a great deal about how they would like to represent their care. Also, it gives families a chance to compare different centers areas of focus to see which one may best meet their families needs for care. So while it might not be required, I think it is something that benefits the center.
The mission should be visible in the center so that staff can have a visual reference that will remind them of their work. They could have a system where staff indicate how they plan to work towards that mission each week or write a goal for the month, etc.

It is necessary to have a mission statement, although not required. A school needs goals and ideas to have that be the core for your center. Hiring people who agree and practice that as well as having staff review the mission statement daily can help with that.

Yes, every place should have a mission statement to have a blue print to go off of for their program. Guiding principles, values and belief systems that provides a supportive and successful environment for staff, family and the children.

Employees should find how the mission statement applies to their daily tasks to make it more tangible to them and it makes the commitment more greater.

Yes it is necessary in washington state to have a mission statement.

Posting the mission statement visibly by the doorway of the center in large type and on a colorfully decorated paper near the place where the employees clock in would be a great way to make it part of their daily existence.

A missions statement is good business practice and must be available to parents in writing and explained to them. This helps to assure everyone involved know the programs goals. It is a must that all employees understand and work under the guidance of a program's mission statement.

How should staff members show understanding of the program’s mission in their daily practice? Staff members should show understanding of the program's mission in their daily practice by exemplifying the values of the program and the "why" of the reason their program was started and the reason it is unique from other programs. For example, at my workplace, a big focus of our "why" is that our program provides Spanish/English bilingual support so that students of a variety of different language backgrounds can thrive. All staff members are fluent in both English and Spanish and many have experience or certifications teaching English or Spanish as a foreign language or teaching in bilingual programs. This helps us exemplify the values set out in our mission statement by speaking to students in both languages and helping students of all language and cultural backgrounds learn to interact with one another positively.

It is very necessary to have a mission statement in place to apply for a child care operating license in the state of Washington. The reason for this is that it give you a tool that you believe in that others can see and buy into for how you see that child care should be exercised. It is also a tool that allows others besides you (the children's families) to understand and join in with you for what you believe in when it comes to the care of their children. It prepares you for what you are setting out to do and why you are doing it.

Staff members should show understanding of the program’s mission in their daily practice by reviewing and living the mission statement as they are working with the children and their families. It is important that the staff members agree with what you as a director are trying to do and why you are doing it. During the interview process it should be shown to the staff member and encouraged of them to process and talk about how they agree or disagree with what you are looking to accomplish. Having the mission statement next to the phone and near the employee section and on the walls is a good way to remind staff how this child care facility is visioned to run.

In Washington state, yes is it necessary to have a mission statement in childcare centers. To demonstrate that caregivers share the values of the mission statement, its core tenets should be discussed not only between the primary teacher and the employees, but also with the children when you can (focusing on kindness, or inclusion, or science, or the arts, or whatever values your statement espouses.)

Through their attitude, and passion. Needing to know why they are in the career they are in, why are they choosing to help children learn, to see the progress in the children's development. Remembering why the company started and what is the meaning of the company.

Yes it is very necessary for programs to have a mission statement. It is their way of communicating to the parents they importance of the program and the goals they have set for the program to succeed. In able to have staff have an understanding of the statement they need to imply it in there day to day schedule and put it into actions. If they don't have an understanding then they are not able to help the program achieve its goals.

Yes it is important to have a mission statement. It helps staff understand where we as a center stand and what we strive for and also shows the parents that too.
And by reading and understanding the mission statement staff can work better together know what goals we are all trying to achieve and be an example to one another, the kids, and the families.
