An occupation is a job, but a profession is something that someone has dedicated their life to and is committed to being very well qualified in.

An occupation is a job. A profession is more of a career, something you dedicate your life to, hopefully your passion.

An occupation is a job or position in society while a profession is a position that requires specialized training.

I believe that an occupation is just a job something that "occupies" your days. I believe that a profession is something that something has dedicated time and energy to by going through schooling and extra training to make it a profession and even a passion.

An occupation is a job that you keep, simply to make money to live. A profession is when you do work that you love and are devoted to and being equipped to do so.

An occupation is a source of income that is worked for, preferably paid with taxes withheld. A profession is a field of personal choice that a person strives to become professional in. Professions require passion, work, effort.

Occupation is the position you are working in.
Profession is based on your education and knowledge you have in a particular field.

The only difference seems to be semantics but I guess an occupation is a job while a profession is a career. An occupation is usually temporary, a person may not see themselves growing there while a profession is long lasting, and something one wants to dedicate themselves too.

An occupation is a job that anyone can "occupy," a profession is a job that anyone with the right, professional training can have.

Professionalism is exhibiting excellence and skills on the job and with others. Occupation is a job that is more just task oriented and less skill orientated.

An occupation is something that merely "occupies" our time, a job, a "job, job". A profession is something that we are deeply invested in,that has deeper meeting, that there are certain professional standards of conduct about. A career that we can have pride in.

Occupation is a job that fills ones time and provides a livelihood to get one by in life. Profession refers to a job, but is much more in that a professional will have trained and studied to enter into a position with knowledge, qualifications and skill to perform at higher level than just having a job. McDonald's is a job, teaching is a profession.

As the others have stated...
Occupation is a job mostly for a paycheck and requires more basic skills while a profession is usually something that one is passionate about because it requires more skills, outside of work time/investment and dedication.

An occupation is a job, a profession is a career. It also has to do with your passion for the work, the more you take it seriously the more it is a profession. You live and breathe your job and do not necessarily turn off your work brain after your work shift.

The difference between an “occupation” and a “profession” is an "occupation" is something you do to earn a wage and your livelihood. A "Profession" is an activity, which requires specialized training, knowledge, qualification and skills. When a Professional is paid for their skills or talent, it is known as an occupation.

I'd say an occupation is a job and can be changed fairly easily and a profession is something people dedicate there life to and do all the training necessary to have that profession.

An occupation is something that occupies your time, about 40 hours an week in most cases, and provides a wage or salary that pays the bills. It is more likely a learned skill or trade rather than something requiring higher education. Its a job.
A profession is more of a way of identifying yourself with a specific field that you have dedicated time and money to learning about. It is more of a calling or passion, something that is important to you and requires continuing education to stay current and relevant. It is more than just the hours you clock in to get paid for as schooling and training are often done in your own free time.
