Individual differences in needs is covered in the several pages directly in the training prior to  this page. The topics of diversity, child temperament, red flags (or delays) are all individual differences in children. 
The specific needs of each stage of development is also accumulated information from the previous pages, including the red flags page. For example:  * Infants need to be fed, kept warm, kept safe. They need verbal and physical interactions with parents or caregivers. * Toddlers need food to be provided, they need safe things to interact with that allow them to explore the world around them-colorful board books, age-appropriate toys. * Preschoolers need safe areas to try out their developing large motor skills. They need to be kept safe as they explore. They need to be talked to. * Young school-agers need encouragement. They are at an age where they may begin comparing themselves to others around them. They need to be challenged. They need to be allowed to try new things.​
